How can my company become an approved home performance contractor for the Energy Alliance?
Energy Alliance contractors need to be certified by the Energy Alliance to participate in the residential program. The first step in becoming an approved contractor is completing our online application form. The Energy Alliance will review the information and, if acceptable, you will be contacted to arrange a meeting with representatives of the Energy Alliance.
What are the minimum requirements to become an approved home performance contractor?
The Energy Alliance requires all employees conducting home energy assessments (energy audits) to be BPI-Building Analyst certified.
What are the benefits of being an approved Home Performance Contractor in the Energy Alliance program?
Energy Alliance contractors are part of an exciting regional initiative that connects Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky residents and nonprofits with education, expertise, and financial assistance to accelerate the demand for energy efficiency services. Participating contractors benefit from a regional marketing initiative that generates demand for energy efficiency services. In addition, the Energy Alliance provides the following benefits:
- Low-interest loan programs (GC-HELP)
- Contractor pre-qualification and quality assurance services
- Marketing and community education programs
- IT tools to streamline assessment and improvement process
- Financial incentives for home improvements
How can I become BPI certified?
The Energy Alliance has partnered with Cincinnati State and Community College’s Workforce Development Program to offer certified courses at the Workforce Development Center. This program provides Renewable Energy, Energy Audit, Sustainable Building courses, and BPI Certified Auditor programs.
