The Energy Alliance is Hiring!
The Energy Alliance is hiring a Community Outreach Manager to assist with marketing and outreach efforts. Applications are being accepted until February 17th.  Click here for the full job description.

Green Business Awards
The Energy Alliance has been chosen as a finalist for the 2012 Green Business Awards! The Business Courier and USGBC-Cincinnati Chapter will host the awards ceremony celebrating businesses that lead the way in sustainable practices on March 20th at the Cintas Center.

Energy Alliance Adds Energy Advisor to Better Serve Customers
The Energy Alliance has made additions to its staff that will enhance our customer service and help residents with their home energy improvement needs.

Ryan(1)Ryan Scalf, former Operations Co-Op, was promoted to the newly created Energy Advisor role to assist both customers and contractors through the home energy improvement process. Ryan will be available to help homeowners with questions or concerns they have about their home energy assessment and improvements.

Ryan is currently studying Electro-Mechanical Engineering at Cincinnati State, with a renewable energy efficiency focus, in addition to a lasers and optics focus. He also has a background in industrial valve and automation equipment sales.

Check Out Our Booth At The Home and Garden Show
276869_130707733642156_7544557_nThe Energy Alliance will be participating in the upcoming Home and Garden show, to be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center on February 25th and 26th, and February 29th through March 4th.

The Energy Alliance will be featured with Greener Stock and EcoEnvironments in the lobby of the convention center. This specialized area will feature ideas for homeowners interested in "going green" at home. Interactive displays on topics such as renewables and home energy improvements will provide hands-on learning opportunities for visitors.

Northern Kentucky Restoration Weekend
373345_290907387610003_1635961290_nSave the date for an upcoming event that will educate local homeowners and residents on preserving old homes while increasing their energy efficiency.

Northern Kentucky Restoration Weekend (March 2nd-3rd) will include Northern Kentucky's first ever Restore it Right fair. The two day event will feature a renovation contractor meet and greet, held in conjunction with the Shop Bellevue event from 6pm-9pm on Friday, at businesses on Fairfield Avenue. Friday's event will feature a scavenger hunt. Saturday's activities will take place from 9am-1pm at Holy Trinity School in Bellevue, and will include workshops on over a dozen restoration-related topics. Admission is free, and Saturday includes lunch.

Northern Kentucky Restoration Weekend is co-sponsored by the Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance, Tri-State Wholesale Building Supplies, American Chimney & Masonry, Home School, the Cities of Bellevue, Newport and Covington, Bellevue Neighborhood Association, Bellevue Renaissance, Building Value, The Campbell County Public Library, Clubhouse Deck and Rail, Crown Column and Millwork, Earthwise, Francis Schulze, Glass Craft & Simpson Doors, Holy Trinity School,  Tiburon Energy, Kentucky Home Performance, Lincoln Windows, PEAK Heating, Air, and Geothermal, Provia Storm Windows, Variform, Siteology.com, and the Cincinnati Preservation Association.

 
Calling All Artists: Ecosculpt Returns To Fountain

logo-3cdcEcosculpt, the popular eco-friendly sculpture installation that debuted last spring, is slated to return to Fountain Square this April thanks to a collaboration

In celebration of Earth Day, sculptures made out of recycled or recyclable materials will be featured on Fountain Square between April 13th and 29th. EcoSculpt 1While the sculptures are in place, visitors to the square can vote on their favorite piece in addition to collecting information from green-friendly vendors.  The Energy Alliance efficiency voting booth will also return to Fountain Square, which will include resources on making your home more efficient and green.  The event will culminate with the April 20th awards ceremony, when judges will award first, second, and third prizes in addition to announcing the "People's Choice" winner. Prizes range from $100 for People's Choice to $500 for First Prize.

Applications for interested artists are now being accepted, with a deadline of 5PM on March 2nd. Up to 24 entries will be selected for display on Fountain Square.  Sculptures must be made entirely of recyclable materials,  and cannot include electricity or water (solar is allowed).   For complete rules and regulations, download the application form here.
