Meet The Energy Alliance

Andy Holzhauser, Chief Executive Officer

Chief Executive Officer

Andy Holzhauser is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance. He is a Certified Public Accountant and spent the first 8 years of his career in accounting and finance roles, initially with Deloitte in London, England, and Cincinnati in external audit, and most recently serving as the Controller at Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) through 2008. Andy’s professional involvement includes the Green Umbrella Board of Directors, Vibrant Places Advisory Committee of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, C-Change, Steering Committee for Plan Cincinnati, Quality Place Committee for Agenda 360, and the Advisory Committee for the Metropolitan Sewer District’s Communities of the Future Initiative.

Andy graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Business and Masters of Accountancy and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Miami University Alumni Association, as well as serving his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Order, as Alumnus Advisor.

Outside of work, Andy has been active in community development for many years, serving for 6 years on the Columbia-Tusculum Community Development Corporation, most recently as President. Andy and his wife Janice currently reside in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood within the City of Cincinnati, where he serves on the Board of the Over-the-Rhine Foundation.

Jeremy Faust, Community Relations Manager

Jeremy is the Community Relations Manager with the Energy Alliance. He supports the Energy Alliance through the development of corporate partnerships and government outreach. Jeremy also serves on the Executive Team of the Ohio Home Performance Network and Co-Chairs the Green Umbrella Energy Conversation and Efficiency Action Team.

Prior to joining the Energy Alliance team, Jeremy was Committee Director with the Council of the District of Columbia’s Committee on the Environment, Public Works, and Transportation and Legislative Counsel to Councilmember Mary M. Cheh. Jeremy served 5½ years with the DC Council developing policy on sustainable energy programs, transportation financing, and public sector contract reform. Jeremy is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Law in Washington, DC.

Kelly Freyler, Controller

Kelly is the Controller for the Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance. She is a CPA in Ohio and Kentucky with over 15 years' experience in all aspects of nonprofit accounting and financial management including profit and loss responsibility, budget preparation, controlling expenditures and insuring compliance with policies and established practices.

Kelly grew up on the west side of Cincinnati and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA in Business Administration. She serves on the Board of the Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation as Treasurer and Finance Chair.

She currently resides in Cedar Grove, Indiana with her husband and teen-age son. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, biking and playing with her boxer, Dixie, and two cats.

Josh is currently a student at Cincinnati State University, majoring in Electro-Mechanical Engineering with a renewable energy-efficiency focus. Josh has spent several years in the Cincinnati restaurant scene, working for some of the best chefs in the country. He decided to reinvest in his education for a better solution to the energy situation facing our planet. In his spare time Josh is an avid paintball player and enjoys spending time going to concerts around the country.

Chris Jones, Residential Operations Director

Chris has over 16 years of experience working in the environmental consulting and residential energy efficiency fields. He started his career in the Cincinnati area inspecting commercial properties and safety testing residential and commercial structures. For 10 years Chris owned and operated a residential home inspection company, during which time he personally inspected over 6,000 homes ranging from new construction to 150+ year old structures.

Most recently Chris was the General Manager for a Cincinnati- area spray foam insulation company and a residential heating and cooling company. Chris was also the Team Leader for the green product showroom GreenSource Cincinnati, located in downtown Cincinnati.

Chris graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1993 with an Environmental Sciences degree. His was the first class to graduate with the degree, which was on a trial basis at the time. He currently resides in Symmes Township with his wife and three children.

Nicole Klosterman, Community Outreach Specialist

Community Outreach Specialist

Nicole is new to the Energy Alliance and new to the field of home energy efficiency. Nicole's background is in education, water resources management, and writing. For the past six years she has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, working as an environmental consultant in groundwater remediation, as an environmental educator aboard the 84' sailboat the Schooner Seaward, and as the editor of an online magazine called The Inquisitive Sailor.

Nicole graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a BA in English literature and environmental studies. At Northeastern, Nicole received a fellowship for undergraduate research to evaluate a proposed wetlands restoration project. She also conducted research aboard S.E.A.'s oceanographic sailing vessel SSV Corwith Cramer. Nicole was the editor of Northeastern's literary arts magazine and was active in community service in Boston.

Nicole grew up in Cincinnati. She has recently moved back and is living in Price Hill. She is happily rediscovering a most beloved city and is very excited to connect with the community here. Nicole volunteers and dances at the Contemporary Dance Theater in College Hill. She is a formidable (amateur) chef and baker. Bicycling, hiking, birdwatching, and poetry are among Nicole's hobbies. Besides joining the Energy Alliance, the most exciting thing Nicole has done this summer is encounter three smallish grizzly bears at close range on a trail in Glacier Park.

Rob McCracken, Contractor Development Manager

Robert McCracken is responsible for recruiting new contractors into Energy Alliance programs. He has a diverse background which includes serving as a director of projects for the Center for Innovation in Assessment at Indiana University, advocating for the environment as a policy analyst at American Farmland Trust in Washington, DC, and serving as the head coach of women’s rowing at The George Washington University.  

Rob graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy. He also holds a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a focus in environmental policy. A resident of Hyde Park, he enjoys spending time outside with his family.

Chris Meyer, Commercial Operations Director

Chris is a LEED certified Architect with a background in Historic Preservation and 6 years of experience working in Cincinnati and San Francisco, CA. He grew up in Covington, moved to California, and spent four years working in the video game industry before going to Architecture school. His architecture background includes, but is not limited to, design work on buildings and structures listed on the national register of historic places, corporate commercial interiors, writing form-based urban design codes, and writing National Register nominations.

After meeting his wife in Los Angeles, Chris returned to live in Covington in 2011. He is actively involved in the local arts community and maintains a small sculpture studio. He volunteers with the Art of Pike organization and volunteers as a member of Covington’s Urban Design Review Board.

Chris received his BA in history and sculpture from Centre College in Danville, KY and his M. Arch. from Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, CA.

Michael Robinson, Residential Energy Services Manager

Residential Energy Services Manager

Michael Robinson has worked in the field of energy conservation and energy efficiency for over 16 years. He started his work in this field while residing in the Washington D.C.  There he served as first an Auditor and Inspector then later a Program Manager for the city’s many energy efficiency and conservation initiatives. Michael also worked for the D.C. Public Schools educating high school students on the skills and methods needed to become qualified energy auditors.

Michael moved to Cincinnati 11 years ago and has worked for organizations such as People Working Cooperatively and the Cincinnati Public Schools. He also operated his own energy auditing business “Consersave”.

Michael resides in Wyoming, Ohio with his wife and two college age sons and a daughter who is attending graduate school in California.

Ryan Scalf, Energy Advisor

Ryan is currently a student at Cincinnati State University, double majoring in Electro-Mechanical Engineering with a renewable energy-efficiency focus, and Electro-Mechanical Engineering with a Lasers and Optics focus. Ryan has 2 years of inside sales experience working for an electrical controls distributor, and 2 years of outside sales experience representing  an a large manufacturer of solenoid valves to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana area. Ryan lives in Anderson with his wife Jaclyn and his dog Tonic.

Charlotte Seidner, Financial Analyst

Charlotte is the Financial Analyst at The Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance, and has been with the Energy Alliance for over a year. She is responsible for residential program payments and loans, and also assists with grant compliance.

Charlotte graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. She also serves as a Strategic Planning Committee Member for Mayor Mallory’s Young Professional Kitchen Cabinet, helping plan events and networking opportunities for young professionals in the area. Charlotte is a native of Cincinnati, and enjoys spending free time with friends and family around the City.

Nathan Shryock, Web Support Specialist

Web Support Specialist

Nathan is originally from Northeastern Ohio and has been living in Cincinnati for the last 6 years. Currently a student at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, Nate moved into the Web Support Specialist position after serving 1 year as a Marketing Co-op with the Energy Alliance. Nate plans to graduate in the spring with an Associate’s degree in Multimedia Web Design.

Outside of school Nate enjoys working on various websites, selling vintage video games on eBay, biking and hiking Cincinnati’s Parks with his wife and son, and getting involved in local community projects.

Beth Siler, Accounting Manager

Beth is the Accounting Manager of the Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance. She is an accounting professional with 20 years’ experience in accounting and financial reporting. She has been in public accounting and the private sector in healthcare, consumer goods, financial services and nonprofit arenas.

Beth is a CPA and became increasingly involved with nonprofits due to the sense that she could contribute in a meaningful way to the community through the organizations that operate there. As a result of seeing their need for adequate accounting and reporting to constituents she became engaged in the QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification process in order to serve their accounting and business needs.

Beth is a native Cincinnatian and has volunteered with Junior Achievement as a classroom volunteer, Executive Service Corps. of Cincinnati (ESCC), The Brewery District and Over The Rhine Foundation – Bockfest, ArtsWave, and the Alzheimer’s’ Association. She enjoys gardening, hiking, horseback riding and attending art, photography and film exhibits.

Lisa Van Divender, Compliance & HR Manager

Lisa has over 30 years of diversified, corporate experience in banking, manufacturing, healthcare, service and consulting.

Lisa is a graduate of The College of William and Mary and worked in banks and manufacturing companies in New York City, London, England and Richmond Virginia prior to moving to Cincinnati 20 years ago. Lisa served for 10 years as Senior Vice President for Global Banking Services at U.S. Bank. She then spent five years as the Chief Operations Officer of a local nonprofit organization. Most recently Lisa has been providing financial and operational expertise to local nonprofits.

Lisa resides in Anderson Township with her husband and a daughter attending college in North Carolina.

Andrew Wiggers, Marketing Manager

Andrew Wiggers is the Marketing Manager for the Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance and brings over 7 years of Media and Marketing experience. Prior to working with the Energy Alliance, Andrew was an Associate Media Director at Horizon Media Inc. in New York City and a Media Strategist at Empower MediaMarketing in Cincinnati. Over his career, Andrew has developed a specialization in the strategic planning and implementation of Word of Mouth, Out of Home, and Shopper Media campaigns. In addition to his corporate experience, Andrew has also worked on numerous Nonprofit campaigns for organizations such as Give Back to Cincinnati and UNICEF.

Andrew graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in Marketing and a minor in Political Science. While attending Clemson, Andrew was actively involved in University activities serving on the Electoral Council of his fraternity and as a member of IPTAY. Additionally, Andrew was also accepted to American University’s Washington Semester Program where he studied Foreign Policy and served as a Congressional Intern.

Andrew currently resides in Hyde Park in a Mid-Century Modern home designed by his grandfather. Outside of work, he enjoys working on his house, exercising, and spending time with his friends and family.

Contract Staff & Co-op Students

Doug Bell, Project Management Consultant

Doug Bell
Project Management Consultant

Doug is a Contractor Project Manager currently performing an analysis/redesign of the internal workflows and processes at the Energy Alliance. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1983 with a double-major in Business Management and Information Systems Analysis. For the next 26 years he worked in IT with such companies as Cap Gemini, Anthem, and First Virginia Bank. He began his career as a software developer and finished as a Senior Project Manager.   At that point, his career took a dramatic turn and he then worked at People Working Cooperatively for 2.5 years as a weatherization installer, where he insulated attics, sealed ductwork, etc.  He lives in Kenwood with his wife and son.

Dane is currently a student at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, majoring in Electro-Mechanical Engineering with a renewable energy & energy-efficiency focus. Dane works with the Residential Operations team to assist in data management and contractor support..

Mark Gore, Financing Co-op

Mark Gore
Financing Co-op

Mark is a Junior at Xavier University majoring in Finance and Management, with a minor in Psychology. He participates in the Entrepreneurship Club and the TEDx Marketing Committee on campus. Raised in Delaware, Ohio, Mark is interning with the Energy Alliance in the Finance department while in school. In his free time, Mark likes muscle cars and playing intramural sports at Xavier.

Harrison Kelly, Financing Co-op

Harrison Kelly is a finance co-op with the Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance. Harrison is a persevering Cincinnati native who has worked both for the Community Press and as a disability accommodations provider. A recent Cincinnati State accounting program graduate, Harrison intends to pursue further studies in accounting through Xavier University. In the meantime, he will concentrate his efforts at the Energy Alliance and continue to participate in the community, sporting and church events that are important to him.

Marketing Co-op

Joshua Moore is a student in the Graphic Design Program at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Joshua was raised in a small town in Maine and came to Cincinnati to study jazz bass at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He spends his spare time performing in jazz, bluegrass and salsa bands and hanging out with family.
