Greater Cincinnati Home Energy Loan Program® (GC-HELP)

Qualifying homeowners in Hamilton County in Ohio and Boone, Kenton, and Campbell Counties in Kentucky can improve the energy efficiency of their home with this fast and convenient monthly payment financing option for affordable energy-saving home improvements.

For a limited time, homeowners in the Greater Cincinnati region can utilize both the GC-HELP Loan and incentives from the Energy Alliance to complete energy efficiency projects in their homes!

Who is Eligible?

All homeowners who are making qualifying improvements to their single-family primary residence or duplex (where the owner lives in one of the units and the building is owned by an individual and not a corporation, LLC, partnership etc.) are eligible. Good credit and the ability to repay are required; all income levels are eligible. Eligibility is subject to credit approval by AFC First Financial Corporation, the lending administrator for the program.

Who Can Perform the Work?

Only Energy Alliance-approved contractors may perform the home performance work.  The Energy Alliance-approved home performance contractors are required to have Building Performance Institute (BPI)-certified assessors perform the home energy assessments.

The Greater Cincinnati Home Energy Loan Program allows you to finance 100% of the qualifying energy saving improvements for your single-family or duplex home. You must have a home energy assessment completed by a participating Energy Alliance-approved assessor.   Eligible energy efficiency improvements include any improvements that meet the Energy Alliance program requirements.

Step One:

Get an Energy Audit
Contact an Energy Alliance-approved contractor to perform a home energy assessment and identify energy-saving improvements, including estimated costs, estimated useful life, and savings. Click here to sign up and contact an Energy Alliance-approved contractor directly.

Step Two:

Apply for Financing
Apply online or call 888-232-3477.  We’ll have a decision for you within hours and can answer any questions you may have about the loan program.  

 

Step Three:

We Pay Your Contractor, and You Start Saving!
Upon completion of your home energy improvements, sign the completion certification that will be provided to you, and we will pay the contractor directly.

 

The Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance is dedicated to helping you save energy and lower your utility bills. We provide reduced cost energy assessments and financial incentives to support your home energy improvements. Loans are provided by the program's lending administrator, AFC First Financial Corporation, or Nova Bank on behalf of AFC First. AFC First, founded in 1947 is a national leader in energy efficiency lending.
