Assessment Process

The Energy Alliance will provide at no charge a basic facility energy efficiency review for qualifying nonprofit organizations in Hamilton, Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties. This review provides a list of potential energy efficiency upgrades as well as a rough estimate of project cost and savings. Nonprofits that agree with potential scope and estimated project costs can sign a Memo of Understanding to move forward with the project, with estimated organizational funding level, Energy Alliance grant/loan contribution, and time frame.

Your nonprofit can then proceed to an ASHRAE Level 1 Assessment performed by a pre-qualified Energy Alliance contractor.  The report is a detailed review of your facility's infrastructure and systems, listing potential energy efficiency improvements. To receive Energy Alliance funding, your organization will work with the Energy Alliance to educate your staff and membership on conservation solutions.

Report Review
After completion of the assessment, you will receive an evaluation report and can select to move forward with some or all of the energy improvement suggestions. Your proposal from an Energy Alliance-approved contractor will include project costs as well as projected energy savings.  Once the project is complete, your organization will start saving on your energy bills and enjoy the comforts of an improved building.
